About Tamara

Tamara (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and Child and Youth Care practitioner with over 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families in schools, shelters and community mental health settings. As an AuDHD therapist and the mother of two neurodivergent children, Tamara brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. Her areas of expertise include mental health services for neurodivergent children and youth, neurodivergent identity affirmation and development of self-advocacy skills, and parent coaching, including support with service navigation. Her work is strength based and grounded in anti-oppressive principles, and she is committed to centering the knowledge and experience of children, youth, and families. Tamara takes a relational approach to practice, drawing on evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She holds a diploma in Child and Youth Care from George Brown College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Master of Social Work degree from York University.
