About Sydney
Sydney is a warm, compassionate therapist who works with individuals navigating the perinatal period and the profound individual and relational transitions that can accompany family building and fertility journeys, pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
Sydney is a Registered Psychotherapist with an MA in Counselling Psychology and an MSc in Social Psychology. She holds Certifications in Perinatal Mental Health, Perinatal Grief and Loss, and Reproductive and Birth Trauma, and has pursued specialized postgraduate training in somatic and trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, Brainspotting, and Flash. Her background also includes training in lactation support, doula work, peer support, and anti-racism and inclusion, which informs her ability to hold space for the layered, intersectional experiences of these tender stages of life.
This work is close to Sydney's heart. As a parent to three little ones, she has experienced the complexities of the perinatal period, including loss, birth trauma, a NICU stay, breastfeeding challenges, and the shifting sense of identity that can come with parenthood. These experiences have shaped her understanding of how profoundly life can change in these moments and how difficult it can feel to navigate the uncertainty, overwhelm, and intensity of this time.
Sydney’s approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. Her work is informed by attachment-based, nervous-system-informed, narrative, and parts-oriented frameworks, with an emphasis on attuning to each client’s unique experiences and needs. In therapy, she may invite clients to explore how their nervous system holds the impact of stress or trauma, the stories they carry about themselves or parenthood, and what helps them feel more safe, seen, and supported. She strives to support clients in creating space for self-compassion and understanding, increasing their capacity to cope with stress, uncertainty, and overwhelm, and strengthening connection with themselves, their bodies, and their relationships.
