Feel free to email Suparva directly at [suparva@blueskylearning.ca](suparva@blueskylearning.ca) As a therapist with lived experience of ADHD, I bring a unique blend of personal insight and professional expertise to my practice. Having lived with ADHD myself, I intimately understand the frustrations and complexities that come with task initiation, chronic procrastination, and emotional regulation. These are not abstract concepts but real challenges I’ve faced—and continue to face—in my everyday life. My personal journey has shaped not only how I relate to my clients but also how I approach therapy, fostering an environment where individuals feel truly understood and supported. Since 2013, I have worked as a counsellor, helping people manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. My professional experience spans over a decade, during which I’ve honed my ability to work with individuals who struggle with the daily obstacles that ADHD presents. Whether it's the difficulty in getting started on tasks, the cycle of procrastination that feels impossible to break, or the emotional highs and lows that disrupt daily life, I’ve walked alongside clients through these experiences. My own challenges with ADHD allow me to bring a compassionate, empathetic perspective into every session. In my work, I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches—including CBT, DBT, SFBT, Narrative Therapy, and IFS—all tailored to the specific needs of each client. I focus on practical strategies to help clients navigate life with ADHD, such as breaking down tasks into manageable steps, using visual reminders, and improving emotional regulation. At the same time, I help clients understand the deeper emotional impact ADHD can have, such as feelings of shame, self-doubt, or frustration that may arise from years of living with the condition. One of the core elements of my work is addressing the emotional toll ADHD can take. Emotional regulation is often a key issue for those with ADHD, and I use both my personal experience and therapeutic tools to help clients manage the intense emotions that can accompany ADHD, from anger and irritability to feelings of overwhelm or sadness. Together, we work on strategies that help clients regain control over their emotions, such as mindfulness techniques and emotional temperature checks, allowing them to feel more centered and grounded in their day-to-day lives. My approach to therapy is not just about managing symptoms—it’s about empowering clients to see their strengths and build resilience. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. I emphasize self-compassion and self-acceptance, encouraging clients to be kinder to themselves as they navigate the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Through our work, I aim to help clients break free from the cycle of procrastination and overwhelm, develop a greater sense of control over their lives, and discover practical strategies to thrive, despite the challenges ADHD may present. It’s not just about surviving ADHD—it’s about learning to harness one’s unique strengths and live a fulfilling, meaningful life.
