Sumi Kang is a Registered Acupuncturist, Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Dip). She is licensed and in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia.
Sumi completed her training in Acupuncture, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, British Columbia, located on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, including the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. She graduated from the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program in 2022. Her education included more than 1,000 hours of supervised clinical training, integrating acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, biomedicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treatment planning.
Her foundational training centred on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Asian cultures. Since graduation, Sumi has continued to deepen her clinical knowledge through further study in Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion, Chinese medicine lineages, and Chinese astrology.
At Integral Health & Wellness, Sumi works collaboratively with the clinic team to support patients with a wide range of health concerns, including more complex and longstanding presentations. Her clinical interests include mental-emotional well-being, internal medicine, digestive concerns, gynecological health, stress-related conditions, fatigue, pain, and preventive care.
Sumi’s approach is grounded in the connection between body, mind, and spirit. She aims to help each patient better understand their health through a collaborative, individualized treatment process. Her goal is for patients to leave their appointments with greater clarity, renewed trust in their bodies, and practical support to participate actively in their own well-being.
