About Stephanie

Stephanie Hovey- Speech-Language Pathologist Stephanie is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and the Founder of Allied Therapy with more than 15 years of experience across public and private healthcare in Canada and Australia. Her clinical work has included autism services, school-based practice, complex communication needs, and multidisciplinary care. Stephanie has particular expertise in the intersection of autism, ADHD, executive functioning, and communication. She works with Autistic individuals, AAC users, and professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders with ADHD who are looking for practical strategies to manage executive functioning, cognitive-communication, and workplace demands. Her clinical interests include Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), cognitive-communication, executive functioning, and complex neurodevelopmental communication profiles. She is also a trained Communication Intermediary, supporting communication access for individuals with speech and language disabilities within police, legal, and justice settings. Stephanie is often consulted when a client’s needs cross traditional clinical boundaries or require coordination between multiple people and environments. Rather than looking at communication or executive functioning challenges in isolation, she works to understand the broader systems affecting the client and develop practical strategies that can be used in everyday life. Her approach is direct, structured, neurodiversity-affirming, and outcome-focused. Clients who work with Stephanie are typically looking for greater clarity around what is creating barriers and practical systems that help them communicate, organize, and function more effectively. Alongside her clinical practice, Stephanie is a clinical educator, mentor, and Professional Equivalency Assessor for the Nova Scotia Regulator of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. As Founder of Allied Therapy, she also leads the development of multidisciplinary services designed to make healthcare easier for families and clients to navigate. Stephanie is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and provides services in-person at Allied Therapy’s Bedford clinic and virtually across Nova Scotia. Stephanie is currently not accepting new clients.
