About Sophia

Sophia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and holds a Master of Psychology from Adler Graduate Professional School of Psychology. She brings over seven years of experience in community and school settings, supporting individuals managing difficult life transitions and periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about their next steps. Sophia integrates philosophical reflection into therapy in a grounded and practical way to help clients better understand their experiences and reconnect with a sense of direction and purpose. Her clinical approach draws on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). She works collaboratively with clients to build emotional regulation skills and develop practical strategies for change, while also creating space for deeper reflection. Prior to her graduate training, Sophia worked in community outreach and harm reduction settings, supporting individuals navigating trauma, instability, and difficult life circumstances. She later worked in school-based settings across the GTA, supporting students and families through life transitions into adulthood. This work shaped her interest in stress and depression, particularly how patterns can build over time and what helps people begin to shift out of them. At Connect Cognitive Therapy, Sophia provides services under the supervision of Dr. Nelson Byrne, Clinical and Health Psychologist and Practice Director.
