About Shimoor
Shimoor is a Registered Psychotherapist and EMDR-trained therapist.
She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, undergraduate degree in Psychology, diploma in Early Childhood Education, and additional training in various mental health-related topics. She has over a decade of experience supporting children and youth, both within the community and the public school system, with a focus on special education.
Shimoor has a keen interest in issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. She is well versed in working with diverse populations, ages, and neurodivergence, and she strives to provide culturally-sensitive, socially-just, and trauma-informed support.
Shimoor’s eclectic approach is client-centred, and based on a foundation of strong therapeutic relationships and respectful, empathetic care. She tailors sessions based on the client’s specific needs and goals, drawing from a variety of counselling modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Gottman Method.
Shimoor is a very friendly, open-minded, and compassionate therapist, offering a safe, comfortable space. She is available to support and work with you on improving your mental health and wellbeing, and achieving your goals.
