About Shayne

Receiving physiotherapy treatment for basketball-related injuries as a teenager sparked Shayne’s interest in injury prevention, movement optimization, and strength training—integrating his love for science, sports, and fitness. Shayne nurtured this interest by pursuing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at the University of Toronto, where he developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice to inform his clinical expertise in rehab and performance settings. Through over six years of practical experience in health and rehab settings, Shayne has worked with diverse populations, including elite and novice athletes alike, as well as individuals managing chronic health conditions such as osteoporosis, Parkinson's disease, or multiple sclerosis. Shayne’s diverse experience allows him to be adaptable in applying evidence-based strategies to meet the unique needs of each client. His practical experience includes guiding athletes through return-to-sport protocols after ACL reconstruction surgery, and helping instill confidence in clients’ abilities to return to their sport or activities of daily living stronger than ever. Basketball has been a pillar throughout Shayne’s life, shaping both his athletic and professional journey. He played AAU basketball competitively for many years, has previous experience in assistant coaching and player development roles, and most recently, worked with Orangeville Prep’s elite basketball athletes by leading the launch of an evidence-based injury-prevention training program. Outside of work, Shayne loves to spend time watching and playing basketball, cooking new recipes, training at the gym, and enjoying music.
