About Shannon
In-Person Services
Shannon is an eclectic, trauma informed therapist who is passionate about supporting individuals through their perinatal and parenthood journeys. Shannon has experience navigating identity shifts, body image, confidence, romantic and personal relationships, family planning, fertility and loss and the vast, nuanced challenges of parenthood with clients.
Shannon has several years of experience in the social services and has worked with individuals across various intersecitonalites in corrections and social services. Ultimately, it was Shannon’s own motherhood journey that led her to pursue a Master of Social work and career in perinatal mental health. Shannon had the honour of completing her internship with Maternal Health Niagara and fell in love with the clinic, happily finding her home her as an associate.
Shannon uses a casual conversational style, grounded by theory to connect with individuals as an ally. With Shannon, humour and cussing are always welcome. Shannon is deeply honoured to bear witness to your story, respecting you as the expert of your own life.
Shannon’s role as a therapist is to bring attention to and encourage you to explore core beliefs, values and experiences. Shannon aims to use an attachment lens to explore how current challenges might be rooted in the past while respecting that you have the power to pause or stop where things feel like too much. With Shannon, all facets of your ‘self’ are welcome, and are met with compassion and gratitude, and curiosity.
When she is not working, Shannon is a busy mother of 3 who enjoys spending time with her family, playing volleyball, baking and playing with her dog, Hopper.
