Shannon Martin holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) specializing in Clinical Practice. Along with, graduate certificates encompassing Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health and Advanced Social Work Practice. Shannon has been in good standing as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Alberta College of Social Workers since 2007 and has been authorized to perform restricted psychosocial interventions since 2012. Shannon works with people across the lifespan from a framework rooted in attachment. Over the years Shannon has completed training ranging from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness, Biofeedback, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy. In this, Shannon has an integrative practice that draws from evidence-based approaches to help meet individual needs in a playful, empathetic, trauma-informed, and collaborative manner. Shannon's special interests encompass anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder across the lifespan, emotional overwhelm, burnout and self-compassion, along with helping individuals explore and heal relationships with self and food.
