Shanley grew up in rural Manitoba and eventually moved to Winnipeg for her university education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology from the University of Manitoba in 2015 and graduated with a Master's in Physical Therapy in 2017. Shanley holds a lot of value in continuing her education and has completed post-graduate courses such as taping and bracing, Orthopedic Level 1 and Acupuncture. Shanley achieved her certification in Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in January 2019.
She is passionate about this area of health and wellness and wants to provide access for all individuals experiencing pelvic health concerns. She has continued to take various courses within this area of physical therapy and is now treating men, women, and transgender patients, from pediatrics to older individuals. She believes in a holistic approach to rehabilitation and tries to integrate the knowledge she has gained from various courses and experiences into client-centred care. Her aim is to provide her patients with knowledge, tools and confidence to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life by taking an active role in their rehab. When she isn’t focused on client care and continued education, she can be found walking through Assiniboine Park with her husband, two daughters and golden doodle!
