About Shaleena
As a Certified Canine Holistic and Palliative Care Provider, I am dedicated to helping dogs achieve the best possible quality of life through nutrition, holistic wellness, and supportive care. I am currently completing my Canine Nutrition Diploma and have spent more than five years independently studying canine health, nutrition, and disease management.
My passion for canine wellness is deeply rooted in my personal experiences. I currently share my life with three dogs: Milo, a 15½ yr old senior who was diagnosed with kidney disease last year and previously recovered from IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease); Turbo, an 11½ yr old dog living with a recently diagnosed autoimmune condition; and Rally, a 5 yr old spaniel who underwent surgery for a herniated disc at just three years of age.
My journey was also shaped by two beloved dogs, Roxy and Maci, who both lived to 13½ years old. Roxy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. After extensive holistic support, her biopsy revealed dead cancer cells, indicating that the treatment plan was having a positive effect. Unfortunately, the biopsy procedure was followed by rapid cancer progression, and we ultimately had to say goodbye. Maci lived with heart disease, and her passing reinforced the importance of proactive health support and informed decision-making for our canine companions.
These experiences inspired me to pursue advanced education in canine health and nutrition, driven by the desire to help other pet owners navigate complex health challenges and provide their dogs with the best possible care.
In addition to my holistic and palliative care certification, I have completed coursework in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Food Therapy and am currently studying Canine Herbalism, a comprehensive certification program that will take approximately four years to complete. Upon completion of my Canine Nutrition Diploma, I plan to continue my education through Advanced Canine Nutrition and Applied Nutrition programs, with a particular focus on using nutrition and food therapy to support dogs with chronic illnesses and disease conditions.
My goal is to combine evidence based nutrition, holistic wellness practices, and compassionate support to help dogs thrive throughout every stage of life.
