Serena MacLeod is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (Canada) and Sport and Exercise Psychologist (UK) who supports athletes, performers,
first responders, business leaders, and teams in optimizing the mental aspect of their performance and well-being. She offers one-on-one consultations virtually working with individuals from adolescent athletes to CEOs and Olympic and Paralympic competitors. Her passion for mental performance stems from her experience as an elite soccer player after experiencing a severe knee injury as a teenager.
Serena helps clients address challenges such as performance anxiety, self-esteem and self-confidence, imposter syndrome, mental blocks, fear of injury/re-injury, returning to sport/exercise after an injury, perfectionism, body image, coach-athlete relationships, parent-athlete relationships and fear of failure. Using a compassionate and flexible approach, she integrates evidence-based therapies including CBT, MBCT, ACT, and CFT to build self-awareness and effective coping strategies to navigate challenges inside and outside of sport.
Her experience includes work with organizations such as Manchester City FC, The Royal Ballet, Canada Soccer, AFC Toronto, Reading FC, UK Athletics, Oxford University, Imperial College London. Currently she is the Mental Performance Consultant for Canada's Men's u17 Soccer team.
