About Sarah

ACCEPTING CLIENTS IN SEPTEMBER 2026, please add yourself to Sarah's waitlist. Hello, I'm Sarah, and I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I provide counselling services under clinical supervision, striving to create a warm, affirming, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore life's challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Before entering the counselling profession, I spent more than 15 years working in the non-profit and community services sector, supporting individuals and families through complex life experiences. These experiences have shaped my belief that every person deserves to be heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey. My approach to counselling is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I believe that therapy is not about "fixing" people, but about helping individuals reconnect with their strengths, values, and authentic selves while developing practical tools to navigate life's challenges. I have a special interest in working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, transgender and gender-diverse clients, and parents and caregivers of queer and trans children. As both a member of the LGBTQ2+ community and the parent of transgender children, I understand many of the unique experiences that individuals and families may encounter while navigating identity, relationships, and transition. I am committed to providing affirming, culturally responsive care where clients can feel safe, understood, and celebrated. Beyond gender and sexuality-related concerns, I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, caregiver stress, emotional regulation challenges, relationship and family concerns, identity development, self-esteem, and neurodiversity. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and tailor counselling to each person's unique experiences, values, and goals. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life's challenges. My hope is that through our work together, you will feel supported, empowered, and better equipped to create a life that reflects your values, strengths, and aspirations.
