I am an experienced Registered Clinical Social Worker with a 15 year history of working within the Addiction and Mental Health field for various non-profit and public government systems, practicing in Treaty Six Territory (Edmonton).
I believe in meeting people where they're at with no judgments or preconceived notions. I come from a place of authenticity and curiosity, believing that the client is the expert of their life and together we see set realistic goals for moving forward. I approach my work with an anti-oppressive, strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. Furthermore, I bring a great sense of creativity, humor, openness and warmth to my practice approach. I specialize in supporting adults, caregivers and elders with anxiety, developmental trauma, mood, and personality disorders. Furthermore, I can provide community/online coaching, consulting and therapy for various specific issues including ADHD, Senior and Dementia Care, Caregivers, Grief and Hoarding, to name a few.
Working through a client-centred approach, I draw on various therapeutic modalities including Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused therapy (SFT), and Narrative Therapy. I also co-facilitate our Emotion Regulation Skills group for PTSD.
Registered Clinical Social Workers (RCSW) are mental health professionals who are eligible to provide clinical services at an independent level. I’m able to assess, diagnose and provide treatment for mental, emotional and behavioral issues, and am recognized by most insurance companies.
