Richard completed a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia in 2012. He started his career at Vancouver General Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit and Burns Plastics Trauma Unit. He has been involved in educating physiotherapists as a teaching assistant for the CESEI Respiratory Therapy course at Vancouver General Hospital. He continues to work in the public sector at Richmond Hospital in the Outpatient Rehabilitation unit working with clientele post-operatively. Richard has since pursued a variety of post-graduate courses to further develop his skills. Specifically, he has advanced training in manual therapy, exercise prescription for cervical dysfunction, shoulder rehabilitation and concussion rehabilitation. He holds certifications to practice Intramuscular Stimulation/Dry Needling and Acupuncture from the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. Richard developed and instructs the Joint Active Rehab program focusing on functional rehabilitation for clientele post joint replacement surgery. He believes in taking an evidence-based approach to healthcare and provides self-management strategies to help others achieve their goals.
