About Rain
Rain’s passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine began at a young age when they were often sick and required frequent visits to various doctors and healthcare practitioners. Years later, they began studying at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Rain is currently a registered Acupuncturist as well as a registered Social Worker.
Rain believes that there are often more than one solution to every challenge and creativity can be an incredible source to allow us in finding ways through difficult situations. When they are not at the clinic, Rain engages in community work in a variety of ways. As a social worker, Rain embraces a trauma-informed approach and is deeply passionate about social justice issues.
Rain has found that healing and transformation happens on multiple levels, including the emotional-mental, social, spiritual as well as the physical. All these levels are interconnected and impact each other. As someone who is part of intersecting marginalized communities, Rain is often working in communities that promote for greater equitable access to services. As a social worker, Rain has worked with trauma survivors, people with disabilities, substance use addictions or mental health issues, newcomers, marginalized youths, 2SLGBTQIA+ community, people who have been incarcerated, and various marginalized groups that are vulnerable to systemic oppression and microaggressions. Rain is familiar with harm reduction approach, person-centered counselling, strength-based approach, the stages of change model, the 12-steps program, as well as various approaches to counselling and interventions.
Rain feels honoured to have an opportunity to practice Chinese medicine as one of the sacred ways to connect with their roots. When Rain is not working or studying, they find joy in astrology readings, learning to cook a delicious meal, exploring nature, and watching movies or shows.
