About Preston

Hello! My name is Preston, a Master’s Level Counselling Intern Therapist at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Concordia University of Edmonton and I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment that helps clients thrive. I find joy in walking alongside clients as they navigate the journey towards success. Therapy for Children, Teens & Parents I provide therapy for children and teens supporting young clients in navigating emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges in a way that is engaging, supportive, and appropriate to their stage of development. For children, sessions focus on helping them express emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen emotional awareness. I support concerns such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, social challenges, and adjustment-related stress. When appropriate, parents are meaningfully involved in the process to support consistency and skill-building outside of sessions. With teens, therapy focuses on fostering insight, emotional awareness, and independence. I work with youth experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, and self-esteem concerns. Sessions aim to help teens develop practical coping strategies while building confidence and autonomy. My approach with children and teens draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-informed strategies, emotion regulation skills, and strengths-based approaches, while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment. Therapy for Adults I provide therapy for adults navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and work-life balance. Adult therapy is collaborative and goal-oriented, with a focus on understanding patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together, we work to build practical coping strategies, increase self-awareness, and support meaningful, lasting change. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, skills-based interventions, and strengths-based approaches, tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. A Bit About Me When I’m not here in the clinic, I enjoy baking, reading, and working on puzzles, activities that allow me to slow down, be creative, and challenge myself in different ways. I value spending time with family and appreciate opportunities to connect and recharge with the people closest to me. I also enjoy traveling when I can, as it allows me to explore new places, gain fresh perspectives, and step outside of my routine. On a day-to-day basis, I especially enjoy getting outdoors and taking my dog, Nola, for walks, which is one of my favorite ways to unwind and maintain a healthy work–life balance.
