About Nirupa

Being raised as a South Asian immigrant woman has helped me to inform my practice and provide culturally sensitive support to clients by integrating my own lived experiences along with anti-oppressive, cultural, religious and spiritual framework. My therapeutic approach over the last 13 years has been to provide support and hope to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, with compassion and understanding, I offer personalized approach tailored to each of my client’s needs to help them attain the personal growth they’re striving for. I specialize in individual, couples and family therapy and work with a broad spectrum of clients. I have experience working with clients impacted by trauma, abuse and mental health. I draw on various evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Internal Family Systems, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Emotionally focused therapy (EFT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Somatic therapy, Solution focused and Cognitive processing therapy (CPT). To have an effective work life balance, on a personal level, I enjoy spending time with my two children, family, friends and being involved in community advocacy work.
