At Okotoks Physical Therapy, Neil encourages and motivates his clients to take an active role in their treatment. Treatment in the clinic is provided to help alleviate symptoms that a client may be experiencing after injury or surgery, but the greatest effect on rehabilitation and recovery comes from the exercises and activities that Neil provides for his clients to perform at home. Neil’s passion for athletics naturally led him into physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. He has spent over 30 years helping individuals and athletes with injury prevention and recovery. He has been the physiotherapist for the Calgary Roughnecks Professional Lacrosse team for over a decade and volunteered as the physiotherapist with the Holy Trinity Academy Knights football team, in Okotoks. This extensive experience with lacrosse and football has provided Neil with a wealth of knowledge of sport related injuries. Neil graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy from University of Alberta in 1987. Throughout his career, Neil has advanced his education with a variety of courses, most recently completing courses that focus on shoulder rehabilitation and temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Neil has obtained certification in acupuncture and functional dry needling and completed the Part A manual therapy levels through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He continues to review current research to ensure the advice he provides is current and evidence based. He has served on the boards of the Alberta Physiotherapy Association, Calgary Health Region and the local Foothills Country Hospice. Neil has been a part of the Okotoks community since 1994. He enjoys the outdoor activities the region has to offer, including running, golfing and fly fishing. Neil is married and has three children, who he hopes will always love to travel home for the holidays!
