About Monica
You're going to experience loss — that's not in question. What's less talked about is what loss tends to expose: complicated relational and family history that was already there, sometimes for generations, waiting to be named. A death, an estrangement, a relationship ending, or watching someone you love decline before they're gone — any of it can crack that open.
Loss changes things: your identity, your values, your sense of what's safe. There's no simple "going back" to who you were before. We name that honestly in therapy. I don't sugarcoat it, but I'll walk beside you through it.
Who I Work With
Individuals navigating grief — from death, estrangement, or a relationship ending
People with complicated or intergenerational family history, often across cultures
People navigating anticipatory grief, caregiving, or existential crisis
First-time grievers who don't have anyone around them who's been through it
Clients exploring spirituality, continuing bonds, or meaning-making after loss
How I Work
Relational and somatic first — the body matters as much as the mind
I draw on IFS, attachment, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic work, plus Cognitive Processing Therapy where it fits
Sessions are spacious, direct, and grounded — we follow what's real, not what's expected
We might explore
Grief, loss, and meaning
Family and relational patterns, including intergenerational trauma
Caregiver identity and boundaries
Dreamwork, signs, or spiritual connections
Where psychedelics or plant medicine might fit, if that's something you're curious about
About Me
Registered Psychotherapist (RP)
2nd generation Chinese Canadian
Background in healthcare, hospice, and plant medicine/psychedelic integration
Comfortable naming hard things for what they are — and staying with you through it
