About Mira

###Physiotherapist Certified Acupuncture Practitioner, Certified Gunn IMS Practitioner, Certified Spinal Manipulative Therapist I have a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. I specialize in treating and rehabilitating various conditions that affect bones, muscles, ligaments, and nervous tissue. My treatment philosophy is to address the primary cause of symptoms. I do this using a combination of advanced manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture, and intramuscular stimulation to restore normal joint and tissue mobility. This is followed by a targeted exercise program to restore function and minimize re-injury. As a physiotherapist, I can never stop learning. The science of physiotherapy is always changing and improving. There are always newer and better methods of treatment to get patients feeling better. I keep on top of the science so that I can provide an up to date health care experience for my patients. It is very important for me to continue my education with various post-graduate courses. I have completed Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy as well as received certification in Medical Acupuncture (CAFCI). I am a certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (GunnIMS), a dry needling technique for individuals with chronic pain and long standing musculoskeletal problems. I have also completed training from the Running Clinic in the New Trends in the Prevention of Running Injuries. Pelvic Floor physiotherapy is also a special interest of mine and I am happy to now be able to provide this service to patients. My areas of interest include orthopedic injuries, both spinal and peripheral, and sports injuries including running, hockey, gymnastics, and soccer, among others. I also enjoy working with pre and post natal patients and those suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction.

Have been seeing Mira for a number of years now! Not as often as I should. So many times I have waited to long to see her and end up going in looking like a crooked old lady and she puts me back together! My husband and I follow her where ever she goes! Mira has the touch to make you whole again.

I first started seeing Mira back in Aug 2012 after I had gotten rear-ended. I ended up seeing Mira for a year and a half due to my horrible neck and back injury. Mira is very knowledgeable and skilled, for an example since I wasn’t open to acupuncture Mira was able to find other techniques/approaches to help with my recovery. I also like how Mira was working with the massage therapist Kim at Whyte Ave Sport & Spine which I found it helped speed up my recovery. I really liked how Mira takes her time to understand my injury and came up with a recovery plan along with prescribed exercises that helped with my full recovery. Since I had a great experience with Mira, I ended up going back to her again with my snowboarding knee injury and when I got in to another car accident in Dec 2014. Once again the treatments and her prescribed exercises have helped with my full recovery. I highly recommend anyone looking for a physiotherapist to go see Mira. She is very professional, friendly, positive, and thorough.
