“I saw Mike Wall for hip pain. He misdiagnosed my condition and caused more pain. I didn't hold this against Mike, as these things happen. Another poster (Mich Smith) also mentioned she was injured by her physiotherapist. I kept my second appointment with Mike; however, based on my conversation with him, he was still unable to determine the cause of pain. The exercise prescribed (a stretch for the IT band) was ineffective in reducing pain. After three sessions with Mike, I sought treatment at another clinic. It was a relief to finally have a diagnosis, an appropriate treatment plan (exercises prescribed for hip flexors, glutes and abdominals), and to notice the pain reducing. “Best physiotherapy treatment I’ve had in thirty years. The whole team here is awesome. I went off some online reviews when I chose this place 3 years ago - and it was the best thing I ever did. Aart did sooo much to help me recover from a badly herniated disc and then I had an attack of disc degeneration in my neck that seized me up for a month. Between him and Mike Wall (who saved me with IMS) I am now in far less pain than others in the same condition-at least that’s what I was told by a neurologist. Mike also cleared up a seized up glute muscle that had pained me for years. No massage - nothing had ever worked until he used IMS. They all work together there to give you the best recovery experience possible. The fact that Aart is on the BC Physio Board and also teaches at UBC also means he’s thoroughly engaged and always learning - something I think is key in any good practitioner. I love going to this place cause it’s laid back but still professional. Everyone has fun, smiles and clearly love working there - that says so much right there. I waited this long to review because I wanted to be able to say I had a lot of experience dealing with them. Three years of regular physio will give a person a good idea about consistency and long term results. Real healing takes time. Anyone on here who gives them not such a great review ... well honestly that befuddles me. I’ve seen probably six physios, a few chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists in the past thirty years and Main Street Physio is hands down the BEST!”Read moreShow less
