About Midori

Midori completed her Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2015 and has been with Allan McGavin since 2015. She enjoys treating all areas of the body, with special interests in the lower body, neck and lumbar spine. She has keen interest in optimizing performance for triathletes, runners, cyclists, racket sport athletes, and soccer players of all ages. Midori combines her undergraduate degree knowledge in ergonomics and kinesiology (SFU) with her post-graduate education in manual therapy (FCAMPT), intramuscular dry needling, bike fitting and exercise prescription (DNS Level 1) to understand how your body moves. She evaluates movement from a very detailed to global perspective. Her goals as a physiotherapist are to provide knowledge and a treatment approach that enables you to prevent and rehabilitate from injury in your pursuit of optimal health and performance. Midori has also been providing custom bike fits since 2017. To book a bike fit please email plaza@allanmcgavinphysio.com. In the community, Midori co-created the Allan McGavin Run Club and has worked with SportMedBC Run Clinics, BalletBC, Red Truck Racing, Badminton BC, BC Soccer, PoCo Grand Prix, American Master Games, Arc’teryx, MEC, and HUB Cycling. Midori grew up in the Fraser Valley, and played competitive soccer and badminton. In soccer, her team placed first twice at the B.C. youth soccer provincials, and second at Nationals. In badminton, she held a top ten position in U-19 women’s singles and mixed doubles in B.C. Midori now enjoys spending time with her family, doing triathlons, hiking, and spending time outdoors doing just about anything! She has completed the Whistler Fondo, 2 Olympic triathlons, 1 half Ironman and 1 full distance Ironman. All these activities have not been injury-free and Midori has a history of coping with and rehabilitating from low back and knee pain, ankle sprains, groin and rotator cuff strains, and a labral tear of the hip to name a few.
