Michelle Quintal is a life-long learner. She has been actively working as a community organizer for the past 15 years and is trained as a mental health worker, chef, and herbalist. She completed her Western Clinical Herbal Medicine training under the tutelage of Diane Kent and at The Institute of Traditional Medicine. Her culinary arts education was completed at Liaison College of Culinary Arts in Toronto. Both were completed while also working at organizations offering services for people facing poverty and homelessness. Michelle fuses her training in the culinary arts, mental health advocacy and herbalism to help organizations provide people with the tools they need to take better care of their health. She is currently working on a degree in Psychology with an interest in Cultural and Health Anthropology. Michelle is honoured to have been the Administrator to the Ontario Herbalists Association and is grateful to have found a new community of like-minded people in Victoria. When not on-campus, she is learning from nature and connecting with her family and friends.
