Michelle Goodburn NP is a registered nurse practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario. She earned her Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner from Athabasca University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. She started her nurse practitioner career at Quest Community Health Centre where her practice focused on mood disorders, substance abuse, trauma and chronic mental illness.
Michelle is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services and primary care to adolescents and adults. She possesses strong clinical skills enhanced by natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. She follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition.
Michelle specializes in providing gender affirming care according to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care. This includes psychosocial support, assessment for and prescription of hormone therapy, and assessment for readiness for gender-affirming surgery. Another area of special interest is weight management, including psychotherapy to address the psychological and behavioral factors that contribute to weight gain and the prescription of medication to support long-term weight loss.
