Hello/Aanii I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) who braids psychotherapy with indigenous and eastern practices. My personal perspective is that the body speaks the mind when we have an interrupted communication within the body-mind-spirit connection. The body-mind has a beautiful wisdom for knowing when it is time to address our various issues. It will try to get our attention through physical symptoms. In our western society, physical symptoms tend to receive more recognition or acceptance than our mental and/or spiritual bodies (actually, we are body-mind-spirit, all-in-one). Depending on familial and generational belief systems, we may have grown up valuing the physical body over the other parts of ourselves. A possible outcome may be an interruption in the communication within our body-mind-spirit system. In my own experience, with ongoing development in awareness and communication, I manage my own discomfort/pain and wellbeing. We are not meant to only survive in our lives, but to also thrive. Our true state is love and joy.
