Michael graduated from Memorial University in 2010 and later completed his Master of Occupational Therapy (OT) at Dalhousie University in 2016. He has since pursued additional professional training, including a Certificate in Disability Management, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
For the past six years, Michael's practice has focused exclusively on mental health-related OT services. He works with adults experiencing challenges that affect daily functioning, routines, relationships, and work participation. His experience includes supporting individuals living with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, mood disorders, addictions, burnout, and stress-related conditions.
Michael's approach is practical, structured, and trauma-informed. He incorporates CBT, behavioural activation, and exposure-based strategies alongside OT principles to help clients rebuild routines, reduce avoidance, and re-engage in meaningful activity.
He also has extensive experience supporting individuals through disability leave and return-to-work planning when mental health concerns have affected employment. His focus is on helping clients build consistency, confidence, and functional progress in a realistic and sustainable way.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending quality time with his family and three children. He also enjoys hiking, exploring Newfoundland’s coastline, and taking his electric scooter out around the local area and nearby trails.
