About Mia
Choosing to begin therapy can be one of the most meaningful ways you care for yourself. It’s a chance to finally make space for the thoughts, feelings, and needs you may have been putting aside, especially if you’re used to being the dependable one who holds everything together for everyone else.
You might find yourself overthinking every decision, replaying conversations, or worrying that you’ve disappointed someone. On the outside, you may seem capable and composed, but inside, you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or exhausted from constantly trying to meet everyone’s expectations (maybe including your own).
As a Filipino therapist and the eldest daughter of an immigrant family, I understand how culture, family roles, and unspoken expectations can shape the way we see ourselves. When you’ve spent so much of your life being helpful, responsible, or “good,” it can be difficult to know what you want or to believe that your needs matter too. I’m especially passionate about supporting people navigating anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, family and relationship challenges, or major life transitions.
I have a background in Behavioural Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), including experience working with neurodivergent children. This has strengthened my ability to recognize patterns, understand behaviour within its broader context, and adapt my support to each person’s unique needs.
Therapy with me is a space where we can slow things down and make sense of what has been weighing on you. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that may no longer be serving you, find ways to manage those loud, looping thoughts, and help you feel more comfortable making room for yourself.
If any part of this feels familiar, I invite you to book a free consultation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and whether we’re a good fit. I offer therapy in English and Tagalog/Filipino.
