About Merve

Merve Butun is a physiotherapist with 15 years of clinical experience from Türkiye, specializing in orthopedics, especially scoliosis, kyphosis, and non-surgical treatment of spinal deformities through Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises (PSSE). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from Baskent University, Türkiye, and completed her Master’s degree in Prosthetics-Orthotics and Biomechanics at Hacettepe University, with a thesis focused on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Since 2013, with advanced training from Asklepios Bad Sobernheim ISST Clinic in Germany and BSPTS Barcelona Scoliosis Physiotherapy School in Spain, she became one of the early pioneers in Türkiye in this specialized field, and she was invited by universities across many cities to share her expertise in three-dimensional exercise treatment for scoliosis and kyphosis. Before coming to Canada, she worked with more than 2,000 spinal deformity patients in the private clinic she managed for the last 8 years. For the past two years, she has worked with all her passion as a physiotherapist assistant at our clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and singing.
