Melissa Davies (she/her) is a Clinical Counsellor and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a deep passion for supporting individuals and families. She began her counselling journey at Island Community Counselling in Nanaimo B.C., where she trained in play therapy, building a strong foundation for her work with children, youth, adults, and Indigenous communities. Over the past five years, she has provided individual addiction counselling, facilitated Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups, and advocated for families—all while fostering a compassionate and culturally responsive approach. She has extensive experience helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, grief, anger, stress, and major life transitions. Before becoming a counsellor, Melissa ran a successful wellness business in Vernon, BC, offering Reflexology and Reiki services. This experience deepened her understanding of trauma-informed care from a holistic perspective and strengthened her ability to provide client-centered support. She has also led workshops and collaborated within multidisciplinary teams, enhancing her ability to work across diverse settings. Melissa is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for healing. As a bisexual woman, she understands the importance of identity, belonging, and advocacy in the therapeutic process. She is particularly passionate about Indigenous culture as a pathway to healing, integrating respect, trust, and cultural safety into her work. Above all, she believes in the power of strong therapeutic relationships to foster resilience and transformation.
