Melanie Waddell CCC, LCT
With her person-centered approach to therapy, Melanie works with kids ages 8 to 19, as well as adults. She has helped children and youth work through depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and life changes, as well as those healing from various types of abuse.
Melanie became a counselling therapist after working with children in various places - youth in group homes, Christian camps, schools, and the pregnancy care center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Studies in 1999 from Crandell University.
She furthered her studies by earning her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at
Acadia University in 2015. Melanie’s approach to therapy focuses mainly on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative therapy. She is working towards certification in EMDR and has some experience in play therapy; however, she is not certified. Christian counselling is offered, by request only.
