Mayah’s clinical experience spans private clinics, school boards, and hospital-based settings, where she has primarily worked with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. Her training includes psychoeducational assessment, risk assessment with adolescents involved with the law, and autism-specific assessment. As a doctoral student therapist, Mayah brings together her developing clinical expertise with a strong interest in research, advocacy, and culturally responsive care. Her research examines the physiological costs associated with coping with discrimination among Black emerging adults, and she is particularly interested in understanding how sociocultural context and social determinants of health can inform clinical conceptualization and treatment. Mayah receives direct supervision from a registered Clinical Psychologist at Centre Wellness, and remains actively engaged in learning evidence-based approaches to care.
