Matthew graduated with honors from VCMT (Vancouver College of Massage Therapy) and is dedicated to facilitating positive change in people’s lives using the dexterity he’s developed over the years.
He believes our bodies present constant challenges over time. Aches, pains and limitations in our activities can arise if we stray from a balanced lifestyle. These discomforts affect not only our physical well-being but our mental and emotional states, influencing how we engage with the world around us. This fuels Matthew’s passion in utilizing Massage Therapy to help others have pain-free movement and improve their quality of life.
Matthew finds fulfillment in applying his knowledge of anatomy and physiology in face-to-face interactions, helping individuals manage both their pain and stress. Whether discomfort is recent or longstanding, he is committed to maintaining, improving and encouraging recovery for each of his patients. Understanding the importance of relaxation in overall health, he incorporates techniques designed to create a therapeutic experience for each person. Matthew takes great care in tailoring his approach to each patient’s specific requests and goals, collaborating with them to create personalized treatment plans.
His areas of focus include treating stress-related, exercise-related and overuse-conditions from the workplace or physical activities. He draws on Neuromuscular Techniques (NMT), Myofascial Release (MFR) and Instrumented-Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM), while blending his treatments in Swedish Massage principles to provide the most effective care.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing in volleyball leagues around Vancouver, exploring new sauna and yoga studios and finds repose in nature and the outdoors.
Matthew speaks English and conversational Cantonese.
