Mary has had a strong interest in health, wellness and alternative healing modalities since the early 2000's. Mary has past training and certification in Herbal Medicine, Reflexology, Reiki (master & teacher levels), Ayurvedic wellness, Australian Bush Flower Essences, Holistic Bodywork, Shamanic Healing, Registered Clinical Hypnotherapy, Vodder MLD (level 1), and Birth Doula training. The healing power of touch deeply resonated with Mary and after training at the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage and working as a bodyworker for several years she then went on to complete her Registered Massage Therapy training with the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2011, becoming Registered in early 2012.
Mary is a self proclaimed nerd who loves delving deep into the inner workings of the body by staying up to date on current research in manual therapy. Her approach to massage therapy is both intuitive and evidence based. All treatments are patient centered and mindful, utilizing various techniques to achieve the desired nervous system response and therapeutic effectiveness for each individual. Homecare stretches and exercises are tailored to each patient's daily activities to make reaching your health goals as accessible as possible.
In today's stressful world it can be hard to carve out time for self care and it's easy to feel disconnected to the tension we carry each day until it reaches the point of pain. Mary welcomes patients to treat their massage therapy appointments as an opportunity to rest and reconnect with their bodies.
When Mary is not at work you can find her enjoying the beautiful Sunshine Coast; hiking, biking, paddle boarding and ocean swimming with her husband and two young children.
