About Maria

Maria is a licensed physiotherapist, following completion of her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2025. Throughout this journey, Maria has developed particular interest in chronic pain, neuroscience and anatomy, posture and gait. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and all levels of fitness. Maria is an open-minded generalist, originally from rural British Columbia. Maria has always been drawn to new challenges and insights; with a curiosity that keeps her learning and growing in unexpected directions. That curiosity shaped an artistic upbringing; an undergraduate degree in Commerce specializing in Entrepreneurship; work in dinner theatre, educational programming and tourism; and eventually a cross-country road-trip to gain experience in rehabilitation throughout Atlantic Canada. Maria’s personal favourite forms of movement are hiking, dancing, pilates, and yoga; appreciating music and rhythm, emphasizing breath and body awareness, and of course, being outdoors. For Maria, movement is a means to access the world around us, care for our bodies, and a form of creative expression. Maria’s approach to care has a dual focus on restoration of function and prevention of future decline. She sees physiotherapy as a vital approach to preventative medicine and a form of healthcare that has the opportunity to empower clients. Maria aims to support her clients as they learn to trust their bodies and increase confidence in their movement, build strength to allow freedom and resilience, and gain connection to and control of their health and wellbeing. She views managing the body holistically, with the best outcomes stemming from a context of knowledge and self-awareness.
