About Margaret

My goal in supporting others through some of the most challenging times in their lives is to foster a collaborative professional relationship that creates a safe environment for positive wellness, change, and healing. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) with the Ontario College of Psychotherapists having gained my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2012. I am also a Master Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy Practitioner, a Break The Worry Trance™ Coach, and an Expressive Arts Practitioner. I find strategies from these platforms provide wonderful tools that accompany my work well. As part of my professional development, I continue to pursue educational opportunities, and receive ongoing clinical supervision. I specialize in grief, loss, anxiety, depression, conflict resolution, personal growth, and personal transformation. I use various modalities and an integrative approach to best support each individual and these include: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Conflict Resolution, and Expressive Arts. These modalities combined with my Counselling Psychology background assist me in providing an environment for safe self-expression, processing emotions, creativity and personal development. The goal is to accommodate the needs of each client, to best support clients of all ages and backgrounds, and to promote healing. While a faculty member for Fleming College from 2012 to 2017, I taught within the Graduate Certificate Expressive Arts program. The courses I have taught include: Introduction to Expressive Arts, Professional Issues in Expressive Arts, Expressive Arts in Bereavement & Palliative Care, and Expressive Arts-Creative Connections. The graduate level courses provide training for those working in the field of expressive arts, those looking to gain tools for facilitation, and for those who wish to integrate art-making into their work. I currently train bereavement facilitators, who offer peer support based programming within several organizations. I am also a member of OEATA (Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association), CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association), and OACCPP (Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists).
