About Malorie
Malorie Fitzgerald brings a calm, compassionate, and curious approach to her work with children ages 10 and up, teens, and adults. She takes time to understand each person’s individual way of experiencing and communicating, adapting her approach to meet their needs rather than expecting them to fit a particular way of doing therapy. Her professional experience supporting people with diverse developmental, learning, communication, and sensory needs has shaped a practice that is patient, flexible, and grounded in genuine connection.
Malorie has completed the academic and coursework requirements for her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is completing her final practicum requirements at 3 Rivers Counselling. Her previous experience as an Educational Assistant, adult support worker, and nature-based playschool operator has given her extensive experience building trusting relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and creating environments where people feel safe, respected, and understood.
Her approach is client-centred and strengths-based, with particular interests in neurodiversity, autism, ADHD, developmental differences, learning challenges, emotional regulation, stress, and life transitions. Malorie draws on her experience with trauma-informed and collaborative support, as well as her background working with children, families, and adults, to help clients make sense of their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop strategies that feel realistic and meaningful in their everyday lives.
Working with Malorie is likely to feel thoughtful, unrushed, and collaborative. She brings warmth and patience to the therapeutic relationship and is attentive to the small cues that can help someone feel more comfortable and understood. With younger clients, she is comfortable incorporating creativity, play, movement, and outdoor experiences when they support connection and communication. With teens and adults, she creates space to explore challenges at a pace that feels manageable, while working together to build greater self-understanding, confidence, and practical ways of navigating life.
