About Maisha

### About Me As a psychotherapist specializing in supporting survivors of relational abuse—including intimate partner, family, and institutional abuse—I truly believe individuals can rediscover their strength and thrive after adversity. I recognize that each person’s journey is unique, and my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can learn to trust themselves, achieve their goals, and find genuine joy. ### My Approach & Background My practice is grounded in extensive clinical training across various modalities—including DBT, Somatic, and Trauma-Informed care—and is enriched by a global professional history spanning Canada, Asia, and Africa. As an adoptee, immigrant, and member of the African diaspora, I bring a deeply nuanced perspective to the complexities of trauma recovery. I understand that no two clients are the same, so I tailor my approach to honor each person’s strengths, experiences, and cultural context. My sessions are calm, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed, while also offering the right amount of challenge to foster meaningful growth.
