About Madelyn

Her love of storytelling led her to a successful career in journalism, where she discovered her ability to create a safe space for others to open up and reflect deeply on their experiences. That same curiosity and compassion eventually guided her toward a second career in psychotherapy. A classically trained pianist, Madelyn completed her Master of Music Therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University and has worked with children, teens, adults and older adults across a range of settings, including community programs, palliative care and long-term care. In her practice, Madelyn takes a relational, psychodynamic and humanistic approach, often integrating music psychotherapy and creative expression to help clients uncover emotions and explore feelings that can be hard to put into words. Music psychotherapy techniques can include singing, music listening, lyric analysis and songwriting—no musical experience required! Above all, Madelyn’s work is grounded in curiosity, compassion and a decolonial lens, examining how cultural, generational and systemic influences shape identity and mental health. Her goal is to offer a collaborative and non-judgemental space where clients can feel seen, understood and supported as they learn to approach themselves with more curiosity and kindness. ###Key Qualifications: - Master of Music Therapy - Certificate in Trauma Counselling (Level 1) - Royal Conservatory of Music ARCT Performer (Piano) ###Trained In: - Music Psychotherapy - Neurologic Music Therapy ###Services Provided: - Children’s Therapy - Teen and Adolescent Therapy - Individual Therapy ###Schedule: - Wednesday 10a-8p - Thursday 9a-1:30p - Friday 9a-8p - Saturday 9a-4p
