About Madeleine
I am passionate about working with children, teens, young adults, and the young at heart! With my younger clients, I typically work from a play-based approach which means our work is done through play! We get to create and use our imaginations to help sort through those experiences that may have been challenging for us. This can look like painting or drawing, creating scenes in the sand tray, engaging in dramatic play with puppets, or plushies, or even ourselves!
With adults, I work from an integrative approach, which means we work together to use the tools that fit best for you. Therapy is work, but it is also collaborative. It only makes sense that we would engage in ways that you can connect with and derive meaning from, while coming from a place of relationship.
Regardless of age, when you're in the room with me you get to decide what you need. I believe that you know what's best for you and have the innate abilities necessary to make the changes you want to make. I am here to support, encourage, and provide connection with you along the way.
Coming to therapy is a decision, and often not an easy one to make. I congratulate you for making it this far! That tells me that you've already begun to reflect on your needs and might be thinking about taking the next step toward making a change in your life. When you're ready, I would be honoured to support you in taking that next step.
Maddie holds a Bachelor's of Child and Youth Care and Master's of Education in Counselling Psychology, Maddie is a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
