About Lisa
Please note, Lisa is not taking on new clients at this time.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. She continues to expand her knowledge and clinical skills through ongoing education and professional development.
Before becoming a counsellor, Lisa volunteered and worked at a crisis centre, supported individuals experiencing homelessness, and worked as a corporate sales trainer. Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand the positive impact that a guiding, supportive, and empathetic presence can have in people's lives. The transformations she observed inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming a counsellor.
Lisa gained valuable experience working in a community-based non-profit counselling setting before transitioning into private practice. She is trained in trauma-informed practice, EMDR, child-centred play therapy, person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), somatic approaches, and attachment theory.
Today, Lisa works with individual adults, children, youth, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, and other emotional and mental health concerns. She tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client's unique needs, goals, and strengths.
Lisa's therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, barriers, and life challenges. She strives to build a strong therapeutic relationship founded on genuineness, compassion, empathy, and acceptance, providing a solid foundation from which clients can begin their journey toward growth and healing.
