About Lisa

Lisa Van Huyse is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) supporting people through reproductive grief, infertility, pregnancy loss, and stillbirth. The kinds of losses the world often doesn't know how to talk about. Her work is personal as well as professional. Having experienced an ectopic pregnancy herself, Lisa knows how complex, invisible, and isolating this grief can be. Navigating infertility or fertility treatment can bring a unique kind of uncertainty and grief. You won't have to explain the acronyms, the medications, the two week wait, or why one phone call can change everything. Whether you're pursuing IVF, IUI, donor conception, experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss, or trying to decide what comes next, you'll be met by someone who knows the landscape and the grief, hope, and uncertainty that live inside it. If you're facing termination for medical reasons or abortion for personal reasons, your story is welcome here. You'll be met with compassion and understanding, in a space where you don't have to justify your experience. Sessions are warm and unhurried, and if dark humour is part of how you cope, bring it. Grief and laughter have always known each other. Drawing on person-centred, attachment-based, and parts work, Lisa will help you meet the parts of yourself that surface in hard seasons. The part that keeps it together. The part that aches. The part that's afraid to hope again. Reproductive mental health sits at the heart of her practice. She also supports people grieving the death of someone they love, with a particular interest in mother loss during pregnancy and parenthood. Lisa also enjoys supporting parents through the emotional realities of raising a family. Some losses change the shape of our lives forever. Therapy is a place to learn how to carry that, without carrying it alone. Outside the therapy room, Lisa loves spending time with her husband and four children. She's happiest with an iced coffee in hand, anywhere within sight of Lake Huron.
