About Lisa

## Lisa Bradshaw, MEd Counselling Practicum Student & Licensed School Psychologist ### Pull Quote > Meaningful change begins with understanding, connection, and the belief that growth is possible. ### About Lisa Hello! My name is Lisa, and I am a counselling practicum student with Island Clinical Counselling. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe, warm, and inclusive environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected. I believe every person has strengths and the capacity for growth—even during periods of stress, overwhelm, or uncertainty. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work alongside you to understand your experiences, identify what matters most, and develop practical strategies that fit your needs and circumstances. Together, we can work toward greater understanding, more effective coping skills, and meaningful, sustainable change. Before beginning my counselling practicum, I gained extensive experience supporting children, youth, and families across several British Columbia school districts and communities. I have worked as a classroom teacher, inclusion support teacher, and school psychologist. This background has given me a strong understanding of how emotional well-being, relationships, learning, development, social experiences, and life circumstances can affect daily functioning. I am particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent children, youth, and adults, as well as parents and families navigating learning, developmental, emotional, or behavioural concerns. I approach neurodiversity from an affirming perspective, recognizing that each person has their own way of experiencing and interacting with the world. My goal is to help clients understand their needs and strengths without treating difference as something that needs to be corrected. Taking the first step toward seeking support can feel difficult, but you do not have to navigate things alone. Whether you are looking for support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, I welcome the opportunity to connect and explore how we might work together. ### Ages and Appointment Types Ages Served: Children • Youth • Adults Appointments Offered: Individual Counselling • Couples Counselling • Family Counselling • Parent Support • Career Counselling • In-Person Appointments • Virtual Appointments • Free 15-Minute Consultations Lisa also participates in ICC’s sliding-scale and Pay-What-You-Can counselling programs. ### Lisa Works With Areas of Focus: Neurodivergence & Neurodiversity-Affirming Care • Parenting Support & Strategies • Learning Support • Children & Youth Mental Health • Anxiety • Depression • Stress & Overwhelm • Trauma • Emotional & Mood Regulation • Behavioural Concerns • Relationship & Interpersonal Challenges • Life Transitions • Career Counselling ### Education & Credentials Licensed School Psychologist — College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, Registration No. 1015401 Certified Teacher Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology — University of Calgary Graduate Diploma in Special Education Teaching — Vancouver Island University Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education — University of Victoria Bachelor of Science in Psychology — University of Victoria ### Availability Campbell River: Alternating Saturdays Parksville: Monday evenings beginning January 2027 Virtual: Available throughout British Columbia Lisa is currently accepting new clients. ### Contact Lisa Email: [lisa.bradshaw@islandclinicalcounselling.ca](mailto:lisa.bradshaw@islandclinicalcounselling.ca) Telephone: 778-762-3750, extension 172
