About Lidya

Lidya Lopez is a passionate and trained counsellor who brings a vast expertise in working with children, families, and adults in the Mississauga and Brampton Community. Lidya’s practice focuses on helping individuals and families to regain well being in their lives from a holistic approach, individualizing treatment based on their unique needs and circumstances. She values family dynamics and therapeutic relationships with clients and believes that change comes from working together in an open and nonjudgmental space. Lidya provides therapy to parents, children, and adults presenting with a variety of mental health issues such as mood and anxiety disorder, depression, stress management, ADHD, bullying, social and life skills, and self-harming behaviours. She also supports parents who are struggling to manage their child’s behaviour, parenting training, as well as working with children whose parents are going through a separation. Other specialties include, anger management, bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder, and workplace stress. Lydia applies a variety of modalities to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play and Art Therapy, Strength-based approach among other approaches. Lidya Lidya received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology in the Hispano-American University in Costa Rica (with Toronto University credential) and she holds an Early Childhood Assistant Diploma from Canadian Business College. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Lydia provides therapy in Spanish.
