Chai Acupuncture is a small acupuncture clinic by Li Chai, R.TCMP, R.Ac, located in Toronto Canada. Li is a Registered Acupuncturist R.Ac, and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner R.TCMP in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario in Canada (CTCMPAO). She is originally from Beijing, China, where she grew up immersed in traditional Chinese doctrines, loving and practising Daoist philosophy and health preservation, Qi Gong etc. Li enjoys promoting Traditional Chinese Medicine health ideas to her patients, using her knowledge to facilitate the patients to heal themselves. Li is constantly striving to improve her skills and remains a close tie to her Chinese peers. "When you are committed to medicine, you're committed to life-long studying." Each summer Li spends time back in China, taking part in workshops, following master practitioners, visiting Chinese hospitals and clinics. Currently in her Toronto clinical practice, Li performs manual acupuncture plus electrical stimulation, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, bloodletting, ear acupuncture, acupressure to help various conditions. Li enjoys practicing general acupuncture, she brings experience in pain management, musculoskeletal problems (neck, shoulder, back, sciatica, knee, ankle etc), improving fertility, preparing for natural conception and IVF, PMS, (peri)menopausal symptoms, digestion, immunity, endocrinology, stress, headache, skin irritation, allergies, facial rejuvenation etc. Li takes pride in putting time and effort in helping out complicated cases. She employs classical acupuncture techniques recorded in The Ling Shu (translated as The Spiritual Pivot, dated back 2500 years ago), combined with studies with famous Chinese doctors such as Prof. Biao Lu (Big disciple of "Northwest Acupuncture King" Mr. Kuishan Zheng (1918-2010)), PhD. Fuhui Dong (China's first PhD. in TCM orthopaedics), Master Tung and Japanese Kiiko Matsumoto style. Li also incorporates neuro-meridian integrative acupuncture, trigger point release and other powerful techniques in her work. Li listens to the individual patients, understands their concerns. Her main focus is customizing treatments based on the patient's sensitivity level of receiving needles, age, body constitution, mental and emotional state, how long the symptoms have been present etc. She often comes up with effective and gentle treatment plans and skillfully executes them. In her spare time, Li loves dancing, visual art, astrology and traveling.
