About Laila

Laila Crawford holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto. She has completed specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as the Sex Therapy Intensive Training Program at the University of Guelph. In her practice, Laila also regularly integrates Existential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Laila has worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional, mental health, and relational concerns, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, anger, family and workplace conflict, and cross-cultural issues. Since 2018, she has also served as a crisis counsellor with the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto, offering support to individuals in acute emotional distress. Coming from a multi-ethnic and multi-religious background, Laila brings a rich understanding of diverse cultural and spiritual perspectives. She is deeply skilled at creating a respectful, inclusive space for clients of all faith backgrounds, belief systems, and ethnicities. Laila believes that every person who enters therapy is capable of change, healing, and growth. By exploring lifestyle patterns, habits, and relationships, she supports clients in cultivating the self-awareness needed to unlock their inner potential. Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed and multicultural approach, with an existential lens guiding the therapeutic process. Laila’s openness, warmth, and deep respect for each client’s lived experience are central to her goal: helping individuals move toward self-discovery, self-healing, and ultimately, self-growth.
