Kristen earned her Registered Massage Therapy license in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour from McMaster University, as well as a diploma in Behavioural Technology from George Brown College. Her background in these fields has given her a strong understanding of the relationship between the mind, nervous system, and body, which she believes greatly complements her work as an RMT.
Dedicated to providing care that looks beyond the symptoms, Kristen has completed advanced training in osteopathic manual practice and earned her Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP). She is passionate about using this additional knowledge to develop individualized treatment approaches that address each client’s unique needs and help reduce chronic pain.
By blending soft tissue massage techniques with osteopathic principles, Kristen focuses on treating chronic pain, joint stiffness, and postural imbalances. Her treatments may incorporate gentle joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and muscle energy techniques (MET) to help restore mobility, improve balance, and support the body’s natural movement.
Kristen is also certified in dry cupping and has additional knowledge in cranial and visceral osteopathy, allowing her to draw from a variety of techniques when creating a treatment plan tailored to each individual.
Open communication is an important part of Kristen’s treatment approach. She believes that the more information a client can provide about their symptoms, comfort level, and response to treatment, the better she can adapt the session to meet their needs. Throughout each treatment, she regularly monitors her clients’ tolerance and feedback to ensure the techniques being used are both appropriate and effective.
If you are looking for a therapeutic approach that goes beyond simply relaxing the muscles and aims to understand the contributing factors behind your discomfort, Kristen may be a great fit for you. Every body is different, and no two treatments are exactly the same. Kristen takes the time to adapt each session to what your body needs that day.
