About Kirstin

Kirstin Prescott, B.Ed., B.Sc., MACP, CCC Kirstin made Yellowknife her home in 2003, and started teaching at Ecole Sir John Franklin High School in September 2004. She worked in a variety of alternative education settings and volunteered with Yellowknife Victim Services for fifteen years. These experiences ignited a passion for helping others. Kirstin still works full-time as a counsellor within the Yellowknife school systems. Kirstin works primarily from a solution-focused perspective, helping clients to improve their lives one step at a time. Her approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and tailored to what a client needs. You will be met with warmth, non-judgement and compassion whether you are working through a crisis or life transition, dealing with trauma, identity, anxiety or depression. Kirstin has an active membership with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Kirstin is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
