About Kelly

Over the course of the last 20 years, Kelly has worked at various points as a counsellor, clinical mentor, and programme developer rendering thought and service to issues ranging from depression and anxiety to addiction, disordered eating and domestic violence. His primary belief is that personal problems usually evolve from responses to life stress. He works with clients to uncover the needs, values and strengths that these responses speak of so people can use them to spark new, concrete and meaningful courses of action. Kelly's involvements in narrative and solution-oriented approaches, systemic family therapy, and non-violent communication have contributed a great deal to his view of counselling. However, he is also a husband, a father, a son, a friend and a gradually aging person in a drastically changing world. All of these continue to humble and educate him - both as a person and as a therapist. He maintains a long-standing connection to Vivid Psychology in Calgary, but currently operates out of the Salvation Army Barbara Mitchell Center in Southwest Calgary.
